Civil engineering is a uniquely broad and wide-ranging profession. Various departments offer minors and certificate programs that augment your civil engineering education and the faculty encourages you to pursue a minor or certificate. Areas appropriate for civil engineering include:

• Geographic Information Systems (Department of Geography and Geology) - certificate program (highly recommended)
• Geography (Department of Geography and Geology)
• Geology (Department of Geography and Geology)
• Mathematics (Department of Mathematical Sciences)
• Public Management (School of Public Administration)
• Statistics (Department of Mathematical Sciences)
